Great news! Kevin came around and fixed the hot water story. I am no longer stinky. I’m actually smelling so clean and fresh and sweet that I’m under attack by some very stalkery bees. I’m super allergic to bees however, I’ve learnt that bees, unlike mosquitoes, are open to negotiating the terms of annoyance. So, I offered them a plate of very yummy tomato chutney that I bought at the cheese farm yesterday, to be eaten outside, while I work inside and get to not swell up to twice my size and probably die. They accepted that deal and peace has now descended on the Mooi River Cottage once again.

I’ve been on the road now for 19 long days and I thought I would share some trip stats and info with you. Here are the important ones:
Number of times I’ve tripped over my tent ropes = 753. (A completely made-up number but it feels right, and it is a stat after all)
Number of times I’ve thought wtf am I doing = coincidentally also 753 (Also a completely made-up number)
Number of stowaway spiders that I’ve transported unknowingly (at first) = 1 HUGE (the reason for an impromptu dance show for the other campers at Addo) and a few small ones, with bites that only cause a bit of pain.
Number of times I’ve had to pull over onto the side of the road because my Teams meeting is about to start = a lot.
Number of Lemon Creams I’ve eaten so far = unknown (always happens when I turn my back for a moment, so I just don’t know)
Number of times I’ve dreamt that I’m in the matrix = 0
Sentient beings that I’ve had to stop my car for, because they are in my way = buck, elephant, tortoise, meercat, cow, sheep, goat, horse, donkey and dung beetle.
Number of times I’ve felt grateful for being able to take this trip = 1000 x 19 = 19000 (maybe more…)

Ok, so I’m heading for Jozi tomorrow which means my trip is about to take on a different energy (as Figzie pointed out). Thanks for drifting with me this far. The adventure continues!
